Michelle is a beautiful 12 year old girl who has been diagnosed with spinda bifida (post-op) and she uses a wheelchair to get around. She is involved in daily rehabilitation therapy and is able to walk a few steps while using a table or wall as a support. It has been noted that she is able to walk by squatting. Despite her difference, Michelle is self-independent and able to care for herself. Michelle is an intelligent girl whose cognitive development is developmentally on track compared to her peers. Michelle is an extremely hard-worker and at the top of her class in school! Her best subjects are Math, Chinese and English. Her teachers have said that she is very talented and creative, and is strong in expression. Michelle is very friendly and gets along well with her caretakers, social workers, and other kiddos in the orphanage. She is extremely helpful around the orphanage by completing household tasks and caring for the younger children. Michelle has been described as a talkative, cheerful girl who has a heart full of sunshine and is able to brighten up anyone’s day! Michelle has expressed that she wishes to be adopted and is in need of a forever family!
