This beautiful little butterfly is Isabella who is an adorable, little girl who just turned 2. She was born with epidermolysis bullosa, which is a rare skin disorder that causes her to blister easily. Due to her need, she takes medication and has a special routine during bathtime. Her caretakers bathe her in a water/vinegar mixture and puts vaseline on her body afterwards. They put special bandages and gloves on her to protect her from causing more blisters. Isabella recognizes her name and understands simple instructions. She can stand with support and is working on her walking. Her caretakers have described her as a lovely, little girl. She is really close to the caretaker and nurses that look after her every day. Whenever Isabella sees them coming, she smiles, stretches out her arms, and says, “ah-ah, oh-oh” for them to cuddle her! She often claps when welcoming someone and is always sure to wave goodbye. Isabella loves to play with toys that make sounds! Isabella’s file was prepared almost a year ago (in July of 2017) so an update has been requested.
